Our script fits into the genre of thriller and horror; however it also explores mental health issues that teenagers can experience in this society, informing our target audience in a way about the struggles some people can face day to day. To make our script appeal to our target audience effectively which changed the locations we originally wanted to use. We decided to use locations that reflect teenagers social life, such as Cafe Nero. As our shooting was based in Sheffield we included the location of the Peace Garden as this was a social many teenagers used to meet up with friends. We changed our shot types and editing techniques as well to create the fast pace to fit with the genre of a thriller. We wanted to create a creepy and uncomfortable feel to the Endcliffe park scene, as this is where the horror genre was reflected. Using editing techniques such as glitches, jump cuts to create a fast pace and cross cuts to Chris and the gas man helped us reinforce the genre of the film.
What changes did I make?
I changed the shooting script for the last scene, as this was the main part where editing techniques such as glitches and jump cuts were going to be added to reinforce our genre of horror/thriller.
I also changed one of the scene locations to the Peace Gardens so that it would appeal to our target audience effectively, as it showed what teenagers do.
